Greetings.
We are pleased to invite faculty members and students from your institution to participate in the “2026 Co-Creating Boundaries | Our Collaborative Journey with AI” Design Workshop.
Hosted by the Graduate School of Design, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (NYUST). The workshop will take place from July 3 to July 5, 2026, at the Design Building 3, NYUST, Douliu, Yunlin, Taiwan.
This workshop aims to foster cross-cultural exchange and innovative design practice. Through training in storyboard logic and visual storytelling, participants will learn how animation can be imbued with meaning and intention through human guidance. By effectively utilizing goal-oriented AI prompting and dynamic technologies, the workshop seeks to break the limitations of static imagery and highlight genuine human–AI collaboration.
Through insights shared by international instructors with diverse academic and professional backgrounds, participants will enhance their technological literacy and interdisciplinary integration skills. By taking part in this workshop, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire workflow—from conceptualizing storyboards, issuing precise instructions, to post-production—while cultivating a director-like mindset that emphasizes human agency in digital creation. Moreover, participants will acquire hands-on experience with proposal development processes for AI-driven animated storytelling.
Throughout the workshop, students from diverse backgrounds will collaborate in teams to develop creative and feasible proposals. Each group will ultimately produce an AI-generated animation featuring clear storyboard logic and precise prompt design, followed by a final presentation of their outcomes.
We believe this workshop offers a valuable academic exchange that integrates culture, design, and practice. We sincerely invite your institution to share this opportunity and encourage interested students to apply.

We sincerely look forward to the participation of faculty and students from your institution. As AI increasingly takes part in ideation, selection, and generation, design is no longer merely about “using tools,” but enters a domain where responsibility, judgment, and authorship become increasingly ambiguous. While this space offers efficiency and new possibilities, it also carries the risk of designers being replaced and decision-making being outsourced.
The focus of “Co-Creating Boundaries” lies precisely in how we, as designers, can redefine and reclaim our position within this ambiguity. We warmly invite you to join us in redrawing the boundaries of design together.
Sincerely,
Graduate Institute of Design
